Ministries
You are welcome here. Together, we can love one another, grow in faith, and continue building a rich community that embraces every individual. Join us and experience the warmth of Longview United Presbyterian Church, where you are more than a guest, you are a part of our family.
Worship
Join us every Sunday for in-person worship in our sanctuary or participate virtually from the comfort of your home. We follow a liturgical order of worship, which includes the reading and proclamation of the Word, confession and pardon, and prayers of thanksgiving and intercession. Music is an integral part of the worship service, and includes traditional hymns and special music from our Chancel Choir. The Lord’s Supper is celebrated often, and all are welcome at the table.
Childcare is provided for children ages birth through kindergarten during worship, with strict adherence to safety measures. The children are briefly escorted into the service for “Children’s Chat.”
Youth, Children and Adults
In addition to adult and children’s Christian education and Sunday school, we are particularly proud of our youth program for teens which meets weekly in The Fallout Shelter each Sunday from 5:00-7:00 pm. Our youth and children also participate in mission trips, camps, weekend retreats and local events throughout the year.
Presbyterian Women (PW) hosts ongoing activities and Bible studies that provide fellowship and help fill needs within the community. Additional adult activities include Cards and Caring, weekly mahjong and Celtic Stitchers.
Service
There are many opportunities to serve at Longview United Presbyterian Church, whether volunteering within our community or financially supporting our mission and outreach efforts. We offer many volunteer opportunities, each catering to different interests and skills. In Longview, Longview United Presbyterian Church regularly works alongside staff and volunteers at Newgate Mission’s Stewpot, Heartisans, Meals on Wheels, Camp Gilmont, Longview Community Ministries, the East Texas Alzheimer’s Association, and many more.
